Delight yourself in the Lord;
And He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:4
This weekend I attended the Beth Moore Simulcast event and as always I find myself renewed in my spirit and my trust in the Lord. I cried, I laughed and I rejoiced in the trustworthiness of our living God. Man, I love that Beth Moore she is one gifted speaker.
Now, I'm so excited to start my new Bible study in the next few weeks. My church is offer several choices this time and I've decided to do the study of Esther with Beth Moore. My grandmother's name is Esther and I just got this feeling I'm going to learn a few things... :)

Back to school
Happy to report that all is well here. Kids are pretty happy about everything back to school related.

I'm still adjusting to the early mornings, but the initial shock was absorbed by a scrapbooking retreat that was held here in town the first three days of school. It was so good to be around other scrappers and it gave me something extra to look forward to and get me going those first few days. I stayed until 3 pm each day so I could be there when they got home and then went back in the evenings. I finally finished a special project I've been working on. (Can't say nary a word in case that person is reading.) :) Just a few final touches and I can mail it off.
Today, I got myself back on the trail for a run and the thing I've been dreading the most since I started running a few years ago actually happened.... I swallowed a bug!!! YUCK!! I tried to cough it up, tried to puke it up and no luck. All I got was a nasty taste in my mouth and decided the only thing to do was to keep trying to swallow hard. And before that, the run was going so well. Man, I hope that never happens again.
Last image of the day to share is my new favorite of the dog...Tucker. I call it Wishful Thinking.

Coming down from a "Rocky Mountain High"
Last Friday we got home from our trip to Colorado. It was picture perfect. Every little detail. Our time together just the two of us and the visit with my Dad and Felicia. So much fun. So relaxing. Just wonderful. Here's a few of my favorite photos. And I mean "few" in relative terms. I filled a 1GB and a 3GB card with photos!

I have been focusing this last week on getting the kids ready for back to school on Monday, while trying to enjoy the last bits of summer. I also took some time to complete a mini album from a cruise Richard and I took in 2007. Started out as a fun process, but I lost momentum as it went along. Still happy to have it done. I think I began to be stifled creatively by the size. It is an 8x10 album that I felt I should use because we bought it while on the trip. It felt like it was too big and too small at the same time. Anyway, it feels good to have this done and can enjoy the memories. Oh, what a memorable trip it was. It was our last hurrah with our Baton Rouge friends before we moved to the midwest. {I'm working on photos now.}
Here's a layout I did about the bike trip from the previous post! Felt good to do current events.

Summertime on the River
Last night we went with friends to Cooper's Landing for Thai food. Well, thankfully they also had bbq for the rest of my family to eat. :) It's right on the river. Lovely sunset! Good food and good company!

Last weekend the kids and I went on a bike ride with a group from church along the Missouri River. I've been wanting to do that for a while and really would like to do it again. It's so beautiful.

I actually completed three layouts since I last posted!!! I was on a roll. :)

And I don't want to forget that last week Emily and I had a wonderful Mom/Daughter time in Kansas City. The purpose for the trip was to see the Jonas Brothers in concert, but we shopped and so enjoyed our time together. I loved that in between all of the fun there were lots of "Thanks mom." and hugs and kisses. :) I had made it my mission during the concert to take all the photos I could for her. Given the fact I could only bring my point and shoot, I was happy to get a few good ones. I focused mainly on photos of Nick since he is her favorite.

We'll be taking on more trip soon so I'll be away from the blog again.
